Exercise can affect the «enable» and «disable» the genes responsible for disease development. To such conclusion scientists from the University of Lund (Sweden).

Researchers conducted an experiment with 23 healthy men, whose age was 35 years. All participants in the past had taken no part in physical activity and sports.

During 6 months of the subjects led an active life are regularly engaged in aerobics, a lot of walking in the open air and participated in sports fishing. As shown by a comparative analysis of DNA, before and after the experiment, there have been changes at the genetic level in 7 thousand genes, among which are the genes that are associated with type 2 diabetes and obesity.

In this regard, the doctors concluded that regular physical activity can «turn off» genes, which are responsible for development of various diseases.
